Excellent January 9, 2007 A. Alan 25 out of 25 found this review helpful
This book really covers all topics you need to know about sniping. A great book for somone who is trying to become a sniper or for a seasoned veteran who wants to brush up on their fundamentals. The book covers things like rifle and ammo selection, range estimation, wind, weather factors, mil-dots, and everything else. Especially nice was a chapter on how to fill out your log book. The log books are so important, but no one else really shows you how to fill one out.
This book covers just about everything you need to know, and reads easy - it is not dry and overly technical. The end of the book covers several tactical scenerios and explains how a sniper in these situations would accomplish their shot. Definitely recommended.
The Military and Police Sniper by Mike Lau September 5, 2004 M. Skye (Seattle, WA) 27 out of 29 found this review helpful
This is an outstanding book jammed with information for both the novice and master shooter alike. I constantly review sections though I read the book a few years ago.Subjects include what makes a rifle a precision weapon, ammunition, optics, position, the difference between military and police sniping, etc. It's definately a keeper.
Excellent book on this subject January 5, 2001 Herman Vaalburg (Ransdorp Netherlands) 33 out of 37 found this review helpful
If you are a person who has an interest in Military and Police sniping you must read this book. Together with the book written by Major John L. Plaster 'The Ultimate Sniper'this book offers a good insight in how things work and how things are done to function as a sniper. A lot of practical tips are added in this book. As you go through the book you understand how much the author 'Michael Lau' knows about the subject and how much experience he has in the subject.
You got to have two brains! August 26, 2008 Pain Killer (Texas) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
You have to have at least two brains to shoot. A cognitive thinking mind and a trigger brain. the trigger brain is much like the lizard brain and just lays there until you're up to your butt in aligators. This is definately a book of 'Brain Food' for both brains that you'll likely turn into a handy referance if you find yourself like me...your trigger brain remembers more than your cognitive brain. Don't be afraid to get them little marker thingies and mark the pages of importance! You won't remember all the ones that helped you!
A well written easy to comprehend book for the most logger head of shooters. If Lou don't tighten your group, take up golf! If he helps, take up shooting golf balls!
Great Book January 1, 2008 Caleb L. Towles 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a great book. There is enough information and technical data to keep me reading and learning for a long time.
